New Feature: Recurring Donations are Live

Have you ever wanted to simplify the process of collecting monthly, quarterly, or annual donations for both your organization and your donors? That's exactly what DonorSnap's new Recurring Donation Forms do for you. You can now allow donors to schedule a recurring donation as they like. Donors can schedule an indefinite recurring donation for continuing support or pick a specific end date.

We know that many of you have been eagerly awaiting this release. In an effort to launch it as soon as it was ready, help documentation is currently limited. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email our support team.

Find it under Online Forms > Recurring Donation Forms. If you don't see the Online Forms menu at the top of the screen, that means it hasn't been enabled for your user yet. Watch this quick video to see how to enable new features for your users.

Online Donations and Recurring Donations require an account with Accelerated Payments Technologies. Once you are set up, you'll be able to create donation forms, interaction with payment forms, and recurring donation forms.

New Feature: Go Green, Email Your Contribution Statements

Another exciting feature that DonorSnap has just launched will be a huge time saver for any organization that sends out contribution statements. Automate the process by generating your statements, creating custom emails with merge fields, and sending them all with the click of one button. With this new feature, you can email a contribution statement to any contact with an email address stored in your database.

Just think... instead of printing a letter, contribution statement, and label... instead of stuffing and sealing envelopes, you can email your statements! Not only is this a huge time saver, but this feature cuts out the cost of printing and mailing entirely. Get on the phone and start collecting any email addresses that you may be currently missing. We also recommend sending out a mass email alerting your donors that you will be emailing your contribution statements so they know to look for it.

Update Your Database Year End Date

The new year has begun and you may need to update your database accordingly. If you use December 31st as the year end, you will need to change the date to December 31, 2013. This will ensure that your system fields of DonationAmountYTD and DonationAmountPriorYear are calculated correctly.

To update the year end date, log in to your site and navigate to Maintenance > Site Setup. From there choose the Additional Site Options tab. At the bottom of the screen there is a button that says "Change Additional Site Options". Click it and update accordingly.
