New DonorSnap Perks: More Free Trainings Every Month

Over the past couple months, we have been collecting feedback from DonorSnap users in order to improve our service. We gathered two main takeaways from the feedback:

  1. Turnover of staff using DonorSnap creates a difficult transition for new users
  2. Many users are unaware of or don't know how to use more advanced features

We've come up with a solution to both of these issues -- more FREE trainings every month!

Starting in August, we will begin to increase the number of trainings we provide each month.

First, there will be a regular getting started with DonorSnap training each month to help train your new staff members. This training is for anyone, whether you are just starting to use the system, or if it's been a while since you've used it and need a simple refresher.

Second, there will be an advanced training each month that rotates through the many other DonorSnap features. There's a lot of features out there that you may not even be aware of. We want to provide a survey of these features to help you use your database to the fullest.

Once we get into the swing of the new trainings, we have a few more ideas that we think will help. We intend to add a DataMiner Platinum training each month. This tool has become so essential for any advanced operations that we want to give you all the help we can. Each month we will adjust the focus of the DataMiner Platinum training so that you can see how it interacts with different features. This should also help you understand the thought process of creating different kinds of queries.

We would love to receive your feedback on this. Let us know if there are certain areas you would like covered. Are there certain topics that you think are essential to a getting started or intermediate training?

Did your fiscal year just end?

If you run on a fiscal year instead of a calendar year, you may need to update your Year End Date in your database site setup. If you use June 30th as the year end, you will need to change the date to June 30, 2014. This will ensure that your system fields of DonationAmountYTD and DonationAmountPriorYear are calculated correctly.

To update the year end date, log in to your site and navigate to Maintenance > Site Setup. From there choose the Additional Site Options tab. At the bottom of the screen there is a button that says "Change Additional Site Options". Click it and update accordingly.
